Because of copper’s nature, the ongoing oxidation process responsible for copper’s disinfecting ability tends to create a patina layer on its surface over time.
This in NO way influences copper effectiveness, however, it will result in a color change. Frequent contact with touch inhibits the patina from developing.
When needed to even patina, immerse the CopperZone product in a 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar for 20 minutes. Ketchup also can be used. Rinse in warm water.
